![]() Brigitte Chandler Victims of asbestos disease will be attending a workshop in Swindon on Tuesday (28 April) which will give advice on living with their condition.
The workshop has been organised by the charity, Swindon & South West Asbestos Group, and is aimed at people suffering from different forms of asbestos disease - and their families .
Anne MacMillan, from Prospect Hospice and a physiotherapist highly experienced in working with asbestos disease patients, will be demonstrating a range of relaxation techniques and explaining how they can help patients manage and control their symptoms more efficiently.
"Families will also be able to meet other families who are having to deal with what can be very upsetting circumstances," says Brigitte Chandler, one of the founders of Swindon & South West Asbestos Group and a lawyer with Charles Lucas & Marshall, who has worked and campaigned on behalf of asbestos victims for the last 20 years.
"To be able to share experiences is very helpful for victims and their families. People benefit from simply from talking to others who completely understand what they are going through."
The workshop starts at 11.30am in The Upper Room, 38-40 Regent Street, Swindon and there is a free lunch afterwards for anyone who attends.
