Widow of Croydon Asbestos Victim Appeals for Witnesses
James Harris
James Harris
A widow of a former Croydon electrician who has died from an asbestos-related disease is appealing to former work colleagues to come forward and help in her claim against British Petroleum.
James Harris worked for the Expanded Rubber Company at Mitcham Road, Croydon – now part of British Petroleum – between 1957 and 1962.
He worked there as an apprentice electrician and was exposed to asbestos on boilers and electrical equipment.
Brigitte Chandler of solicitors, Charles Lucas & Marshall - one of the UK's leading legal specialists in asbestos-related disease – is acting for his widow, and is anxious to speak to colleagues of Mr Harris and anyone who worked at the factory during the 1950s and 1960s.
“The symptoms of asbestos-related illnesses can take between ten to 60 years to emerge,” says Brigitte Chandler. “Mrs Harris now wants to pursue a claim against British Petroleum and we are very anxious to contact ex-colleagues who worked for the Expanded Rubber Company in Croydon.”
Anyone who may be able to help should contact Brigitte Chandler on 01793 511055 or brigitte.chandler@clmlaw.co.uk
