| Widow of Asbestos Victim Appeals for Witnesses | |
![]() Brigitte Chandler A widow of a former Oxford worker who has died from an asbestos-related disease is appealing to former work colleagues to come forward and help in her claim for compensation.
Dudley Maasz worked for the Morris Motor Company in Cowley between 1957 – 1980 and also worked for Great Western Railways at the locomotive sheds in Oxford between 1946 – 1948.
At both jobs it is possible he was exposed to asbestos dust. Mr Maasz worked as an engine cleaner and fireman at the Oxford locomotive sheds and was a trim and body rectifier on the assembly lines at Morris Motors.
Mr Maasz’ widow moved to the Plymouth area a few years ago. She now needs the help of former colleagues of her husband who died from mesothelioma, a cancer caused by asbestos dust, in July last year.
Her solicitor, Brigitte Chandler, of Charles Lucas & Marshall is one of the UK's leading legal specialists in asbestos-related disease and is anxious to speak to colleagues of Mr Maasz who believe they may be able to provide evidence as to possible asbestos exposure.
“The symptoms of asbestos-related illnesses can take between ten to 60 years to emerge,” says Brigitte Chandler. “Mrs Maasz now wants to pursue a claim and we are very anxious to speak to ex-colleagues and witnesses.
“Anyone who has information about asbestos exposure at the Oxford locomotive sheds or Morris Motor company should get in touch.”
Anyone who may be able to help should contact Brigitte Chandler on 01793 511055 or brigitte.chandler@clmlaw.co.uk
