Solicitors, Charles Lucas & Marshall, have been awarded ‘Business of the Year’ by Wantage & District Business Breakfast Club.

The law firm, one of the founder members of the Breakfast Club, has seen considerable growth in its Wantage office over the last twelve months with the recruitment of additional staff and several major property deals concluded.

It has particularly focused on developing its wills and estate planning services as well as recruiting staff to meet the demands of the residential property market.

David Thomas (left), partner and head of Charles Lucas & Marshall’s Wantage office, accepted the award from Reg Waite at the awards ceremony, held on the Club’s sixth anniversary at Lains Barn, near Wantage.

“I believe the award recognises our commitment to both supporting the Breakfast Club and to continuing to develop our presence in Wantage,” said David Thomas. “We have more plans for expansion over the next twelve months as we continue to grow our presence in the town and surrounding area.”

Charles Lucas & Marshall’s head of litigation, Michael Berrett is now based in Wantage, along with the firm’s head of residential property, Neil Angel. The firm also has offices in Newbury, Swindon and Hungerford.

Wantage & District Business Breakfast Club was set up in February 2001 and members meet monthly to hear guest speakers and for business networking.
