Richard heads the Wills and Estate Planning Team, which is one of the biggest at CLM. Its growth reflects demand from clients better informed about the possibilities open to them in important issues such as tax and inheritance.

He specialises in probate work, the setting up and administration of trusts as well as advising on inheritance tax planning.

Some of the specialist areas under these headings include drawing up wills and giving advice on associated issues such as life and pension policies in trust, powers of attorney and the management of finances.

Richard provides inheritance tax advice and advises on the increasingly important area of asset preservation including such issues as care fees planning. The proactive administration of estate and post death tax planning is another related area.

His portfolio comprises largely private clients, many retired, but others who include business owners, farmers and substantial landowners.

Richard is a full member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP).
