Claire covers all areas of family law. In particular, she is involved in divorce and financial settlements, separation agreements, cohabitation disputes, cohabitation agreements and pre-nuptial agreements.

Children issues is another important area and this covers, for example, contact and residence disputes along with maintenance advice.

Claire’s work takes in many of the newer and more modern issues, such as pre-nuptial agreements. In 2003, for example she was involved in a case in which a pre-nuptial agreement was upheld by the County Court. Increasingly, efforts are made to settle cases without the need for court proceedings, or to settle prior to a final hearing if Court proceedings become necessary.

Claire is a member of Resolution which promotes a non-confrontational approach to family law and sets out a code of practice for solicitors to follow.
