James Woodhouse
James Woodhouse
James Woodhouse is a member of Charles Lucas and Marshall’s Commercial Litigation and Employment Teams.
He joined the firm as a Trainee Solicitor after completing a degree in Modern History, the Common Professional Examination and the Legal Practice Course. Prior to joining Charles Lucas and Marshall, James spent several years working in the Insurance and Risk Management department of a large communications company. His role involved claims handling, the administration of various employee benefit schemes, working closely with company solicitors in relation to business contracts and helping to manage the group’s extensive insurance policy portfolio, etc.
During his Training Contract James spent time in four different departments of the firm, but concentrated principally on commercial litigation. After completing his training, James opted to specialise in commercial litigation and employment law and provides assistance to both teams. James has experience of dealing with landlord possession claims, contentious landlord and tenant issues, contractual disputes, misrepresentation claims, and employment issues.
Outside work, James is a keen amateur musician and plays the organ at various churches in the Newbury area. He also enjoys playing the piano and guitar and choral singing. He has given organ / piano recitals at St Nicolas’ church, Newbury.
